JR West: Osaka Loop Line NFT Stamp Rally Builds Expo Excitement

West Japan Railway Company (JR West) launched the “Osaka Loop Line NFT Station Stamp Rally” ahead of the Osaka-Kansai Expo to raise awareness and build excitement for the event.
In this campaign, participants scanned QR codes placed at 20 locations, including all 19 stations on the Osaka Loop Line and inside a special Expo-themed train. By scanning the codes, they could collect original NFT station stamps (SBTs) illustrated by artists connected to the Kansai region. Participants who collected all 20 types received a special completion NFT. They also received a voucher NFT that could be exchanged for a limited, non-sale item inspired by the “323 Series” train.

HashPort supported the entire process using the EXPO 2025 Digital Wallet, from issuing and distributing SBTs to providing rewards. The user experience was designed so that even people unfamiliar with blockchain or NFTs could easily participate. The system allowed passengers to naturally engage with digital features during their everyday train use.
Through this initiative, JR West successfully used the Osaka Loop Line—an important daily transport route—to increase interest and excitement for the Osaka-Kansai Expo. As an advanced example of combining railway infrastructure with NFTs, the project became a strong pre-event case leading up to the Expo.
