The Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO) launched a promotion for international visitors linked to the Osaka-Kansai Expo. As part of the campaign, JNTO created 20 ink-style NFT artworks across 10 regions of Japan, inspired by the Expo’s sub-themes. Limited NFTs were distributed using GPS functionality, allowing travelers to receive them at specific locations.
HashPort developed and implemented new features on the EXPO 2025 Digital Wallet, including overseas download support and GPS-based NFT distribution. A unique system was also built to record visit history on the blockchain. JNTO worked in cooperation with the Expo Association and used the functions developed by HashPort.The campaign effectively promoted local tourism experiences across Japan to travelers worldwide in connection with the Expo. It increased engagement and encouraged visitors to explore different regions. This initiative marked JNTO’s first overseas promotion using NFTs.
